UNESCO – MEDITERRANEAN LANDSCAPE HERITAGE

The “UNESCO Med Landscape Heritage” project encourages innovative actions for the valorisation of Mediterranean identity and culture in a context of economic globalisation and international competition. In doing so, the project enacts sustainable economic development processes through the promotion of the Latin Arc’s historic and landscape heritage.

Goals

Valorisation of the Latin Arc’s historic and landscape heritage and promotion of the landscape as a community identity element.

Valorisation of the landscape heritage – along with its specific historical and architectural features – between different regions and as a common denominator in the Latin Arc space.

Results

  • First phase: Analysis of a model of integrated promotion and design of the website (www.unesco-med.eu) . Drafting of guidelines for the promotion of UNESCO site in the Latin Arc and the competitiveness of the Latin Arc “territories”.

  • Second phase: Formation of a UNESCO expert group, study of a model for the integrated promotion of UNESCO sites, creation of tourism promotion packages and cross-selling in the Spezia and Alessandria Provinces.
